The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Masvidal slips under a jab from Alfonseca.

Masvidal has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Alfonseca is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
I was talking to Masvidal's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Alfonseca tries for a takedown but Masvidal manages to get underhooks.

Masvidal pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Oooooh!!! Masvidal has knocked Alfonseca down with a huge combo! Masvidal steps away and waves a wobbly Alfonseca back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

It looks like Guillermo Alfonseca has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Masvidal grits his teeth and throws a big right-left combo! Alfonseca takes both shots clean on the chin and is out cold! Masvidal cracks him once more on his way down, as the crowd goes wild! They enjoyed that one!
