Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joe Dixon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chris Holland!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Chad Campbell and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab lands there for Holland.
Holland is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Dixon tries to counter by clinching up but Holland breaks away and moves out of range.
Dixon shoots for a double leg takedown but Holland sprawls well. He's pushed Dixon's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Dixon.
Holland scores with the left hand. Dixon knows he should have avoided that one.
Dixon is trying hard to land a takedown here. Holland sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Holland throws out a counter right but Dixon avoids it with no problem.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joe Dixon. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Holland fails with the takedown.
Holland defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Dixon.
Holland is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Holland digs a good hook to Dixon's body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Holland stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Holland wants it to stay on the feet.
Dixon tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Holland defends well and Dixon ends up having to push Holland into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Dixon has Holland pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Holland manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Holland is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Holland breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Holland wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Dixon has him pressed against the cage.
Holland is trying to break the clinch but Dixon is controlling him.
Holland prevents a takedown attempt there.
Holland wants to get back to striking at distance but Dixon won't allow it.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Holland controls Dixon momentarily but Dixon frees himself.

Holland is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Dixon frees his head nicely. Oh but Holland has switched to an armbar! Dixon is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
