PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Big Fist (ranked 1956 p4p, 1584 weight class) and Sey La Vie (ranked 250 p4p, 205 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Big Fist!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sey La Vie!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
La Vie slips under a jab from Fist.
Fist bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps La Vie's head backwards.

It looks like Sey La Vie has been cut.
A right-left combo lands from Fist.
La Vie slips a jab from Fist.
Fist lands a glancing blow to the side of La Vie's head.
Big Fist seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
La Vie ducks under a wild hook from Fist.
Fist swings for the body but La Vie moves out of range.
Despite the aggression on La Vie's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fist waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract La Vie.
La Vie lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
La Vie takes a shot to the body in his stride.
A punch lands to the side of La Vie 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Fist!
La Vie moves away from the strike by Fist.

Oooooh!!! Fist has knocked La Vie down with a huge combo! Fist steps away and waves a wobbly La Vie back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

That has opened up Sey La Vie's cut even more.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Fist scores with a nice head shot.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A decent looking cross lands there for Fist.
Fist throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent La Vie stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Fist cracks La Vie with a good jab.
La Vie takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
La Vie ducks right into an uppercut from Fist.
La Vie avoids a punch combination nicely.
It looks like Fist has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fist's jab looks to have found its range, popping La Vie under the eye.
Fist fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Fist is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
La Vie takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

The cut above Sey La Vie's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Fist is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Fist scores with a nice right hand.
La Vie with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Fist to score with a decent uppercut.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Fist listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Fist scores with a jab. La Vie acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Sey La Vie's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Fist stuns La Vie with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Fist throws an off balance right hand
and La Vie counters with a stiff right hand.

It looks like Big Fist has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Fist changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Fist lands a jab to the nose.
La Vie has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from La Vie there as he acknowledges the shot.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Big Fist dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Fist throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
La Vie looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Fist misses with a jab, cross combination.
La Vie is clearly looking to counter with head kicks.
Fist rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but La Vie moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Fist uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before La Vie has time to react.
Fist swinging wildly here.
Big Fist is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

La Vie takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Fist scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
A combination from Fist does no damage.
A nice side step and La Vie releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
La Vie walks into a stiff left hand from Fist.
Fist fakes high and swings low for a body shot but La Vie manages to avoid it.
La Vie looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Fist jabs at La Vie's body.
Big Fist is winning the standup battle so far.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fist moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Nice shot by Fist.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Sey La Vie's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Big Fist!
After winning the bout, Big Fist thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
