Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shaun Hawkins (ranked 2667 p4p, 5463 weight class) and Kona Uluwehi (ranked 368 p4p, 560 weight class). Kona Uluwehi will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kona Uluwehi!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Michael Johnstone and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Uluwehi jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Uluwehi shoots for a double leg takedown but Hawkins sprawls well. He's pushed Uluwehi's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Hawkins closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hawkins lands in his opponent's guard.
Uluwehi is looking to stand back up but Hawkins counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Uluwehi.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hawkins is nestled in close to Uluwehi, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Hawkins passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Uluwehi!
Hawkins is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Uluwehi can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hawkins loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Uluwehi scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Hawkins land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Hawkins stands and salutes the crowd.
