Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Archie Laird (ranked 1338 p4p, 1078 weight class) and Biscuit Oliva (ranked 202 p4p, 165 weight class). Oliva comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Vo Williams - Primal (ft. Vyceroy) kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Archie Laird is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Biscuit Oliva!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Michael Johnstone and Winston Alpacca.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oliva ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Oliva jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Laird walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Laird looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Laird gets the takedown into side control.
Oliva is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Laird working away.
Laird wants to control but Oliva is keeping him busy.
Oliva is trying to improve his position.
Laird trying to control the position but Oliva is working away.
Laird in side control, throwing shots but Oliva defends.
Oliva sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Oliva is concentrating on defense, preventing Laird from advancing position.

Laird slips a nice elbow through Oliva's hands, connecting with Oliva's forehead.
Oliva has a hand on Laird's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Laird takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

It looks like Biscuit Oliva has been cut.
Laird trying to control but Oliva is having none of it.

Oliva is looking to get to half guard.
Laird fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
That has opened up Biscuit Oliva's cut even more.
Oliva is squirming around, avoiding Laird's attempts to control the action.
Oliva is looking to improve his position but Laird isn't that keen on the idea.

Oliva wants to control but Laird is having none of it.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Oliva is working to get back to half guard.
Laird has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The referee warns Oliva that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
The cut above Biscuit Oliva's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Laird with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Laird avoids the attempt from Oliva to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Oliva sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Laird connects with a couple of short punches.

Laird postures up in Oliva's guard and throws a big left but Oliva blocks it.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Biscuit Oliva's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Archie Laird!
An out of breath Archie Laird thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
