Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Art Mcgowan (ranked 3867 p4p, 4166 weight class) and Cedrick Collner (ranked 450 p4p, 477 weight class). Cedrick Collner has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Art Mcgowan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Cedrick Collner! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Elvis Blanc and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Collner throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Mcgowan was covering up waiting for the punch and Collner finishes the takedown easily into guard. Collner stays in close to Mcgowan's body and controls the position. Mcgowan has control of Collner's left arm, preventing Collner from doing any damage. Mcgowan working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Collner. Collner stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mcgowan swivels though and keeps the full guard. Collner has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Collner trying to control the position from guard on top but Mcgowan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mcgowan working for a triangle but Collner defends it easily.

That's one minute gone in the round. Collner controls from within his opponent's guard. Mcgowan throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Mcgowan throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Collner escapes and throws Mcgowan's legs to the side, diving into side control! Collner content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Collner's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Mcgowan is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Mcgowan can't do much from the bottom here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mcgowan trying to remain calm as Collner controls from the top position. Mcgowan tries to get back to half guard but can't. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Collner trying to control the position but Mcgowan is working away. Mcgowan is trying to control Collner's posture but Collner avoids it. Mcgowan is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Collner scores with a couple of short elbows. You can see the frustration on Mcgowan's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mcgowan is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Collner's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Collner is keen to just control but Mcgowan is a slippery customer. Mcgowan slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Collner trying to control the position from guard on top but Mcgowan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Collner throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mcgowan works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Collner tries to free his leg and advance position but Mcgowan is retaining full guard. Collner slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mcgowan wants to sweep but no luck. Collner wants to control from the top but Mcgowan keeps moving. Collner slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Mcgowan. Collner tries to clinch but Mcgowan moves out of range. Mcgowan moves into range and clinches up with Collner. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Collner drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Cedrick Collner dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Collner throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Mcgowan fails with a takedown attempt. Collner lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
It looks like Art Mcgowan has been cut. Collner has Mcgowan up against the cage in a clinch.
Collner wants to stall.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mcgowan tries to circle away but Collner has him pinned against the cage. Collner is working for takedown but Mcgowan is calmly controlling the position for now. Mcgowan lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Collner backwards. Mcgowan jumps guard but Collner stands there with Mcgowan around his waist. Mcgowan gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Mcgowan wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Collner has him pressed against the cage.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Art Mcgowan. That's going to take a lot out of him. Collner has clasped his hands together around Mcgowan's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Collner controlling the position. Mcgowan can't do much from the bottom here. Collner lands a nice forearm strike. Mcgowan defending against the ground and pound. Mcgowan can't do much from the bottom here. Mcgowan dodges the ground and pound from Collner. Mcgowan is looking for a sweep.
That's two minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Mcgowan's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Mcgowan is looking for a sweep. Collner wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mcgowan keeps working. Mcgowan tries to buck Collner off but Collner is having none of it. Collner wants to control but Mcgowan is keeping him busy. Collner is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Mcgowan will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Collner throwing strikes but Mcgowan manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Mcgowan is trying to get an arm triangle but Collner is defending well. Collner can't do much from the bottom here. We've been hearing that Mcgowan has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Collner tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Mcgowan wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Mcgowan is staying tight to Collner's torso, preventing him from escaping. A control attempt from Collner but he's now mounted! Collner wants to hold on but Mcgowan pushes him away. Mcgowan controlling from mount. Collner sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Collner is looking to improve his position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mcgowan thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Collner's head. Mcgowan tries to stand but can't do so whilst Collner controls his leg. Collner tries to get to full guard but Mcgowan has control of the leg. Collner keeps trying to improve his position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Collner is staying active underneath Mcgowan, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Mcgowan is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

A close second round but Cedrick Collner will probably get the nod - 10:9. The cut man is working on Art Mcgowan's cut. That's time! Back to the action! And we move into the final round! Collner tries to clinch but Mcgowan is having none of it. Collner shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mcgowan sprawls well. Mcgowan wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Collner gets slowly back to his feet. Mcgowan shoots in but Collner avoids the takedown attempt easily. Collner misses with a wild body shot. Collner clinches. Collner goes for a takedown attempt but Mcgowan pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Collner makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Mcgowan's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Collner has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Mcgowan seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Collner can turn it around. Mcgowan gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Collner regains guard.
Collner is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Mcgowan presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mcgowan is looking to break free of the clinch but Collner has double underhooks. Collner has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Mcgowan after a bit of a struggle. Art Mcgowan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cedrick Collner. Collner gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Mcgowan throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Collner tries to free his leg and advance position but Mcgowan is retaining full guard. Collner trying to control but Mcgowan is working from the bottom. Collner is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Cedrick Collner has got the better of the ground game so far.

Collner has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Collner is thwarting Mcgowan's attempts to control the position. Collner content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Mcgowan avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Collner. Collner is trying to work for a kimura but Mcgowan is defending well.
Cedrick Collner is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Collner is taking a breather. Mcgowan says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Collner is pressing down on Mcgowan's thigh, looking to free his foot. Mcgowan is holding on for now. Mcgowan has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Collner is working away from the top position though. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Collner sitting and controlling from the half guard.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Mcgowan forces Collner back against the cage and clinches.
And that's the end of the fight! Cedrick Collner comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Collner has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
