PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Wanderson Machado (ranked 176 p4p, 424 weight class) and Kiryu Kazuma (ranked 25 p4p, 67 weight class). Machado's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, El Barrio. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wanderson Machado!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kiryu Kazuma!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Ben Hemmingworth and Steve Erwin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kazuma lands with an uppercut that bounces Machado off the cage and back into range.

It looks like Wanderson Machado has been cut.
Machado loads up on a big right hand but Kazuma slips the punch.
Kazuma scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Kazuma looks to land a right hand but Machado moved out of range.

Kazuma moves into the clinch.
Machado throws a punch but it's blocked by Kazuma.

Kazuma's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Kazuma swings widly with a right hand
and Machado makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Machado misses with a looping left.
Kazuma moves out of range as Machado throws a body kick.
Machado takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Kazuma moves out of range of the body kick from Machado.
A little jabbing left from Kazuma on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Machado has been working on his boxing with his coaches at The Zoo in the buildup to the fight.
Kazuma misses with a looping left.
Kazuma throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Nice shot lands for Kazuma.
Machado tests Kazuma's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Machado moves away from the strike by Kazuma.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Kazuma feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Machado sprawling to the canvas! Machado rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Kazuma finish him?!

Machado is rocked!

Machado on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Kazuma jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Kazuma drops Machado with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Machado looks back up at him and smiles so Kazuma waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Oh Machado is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Wanderson Machado's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Machado leaves his chin hanging out and Kazuma seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Machado crumbles to the floor in a heap, and the referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!

After the fight, Kiryu Kazuma was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
