The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGuire tries to land a front kick but Allen steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
A little jabbing left from Allen on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
McGuire takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Allen connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed McGuire momentarily.
Oliver Allen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

McGuire is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Allen.
McGuire throws out a loose jab but Allen uses good head movement to avoid it.

and Allen counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

McGuire lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Allen throws a series of punches but McGuire avoids them all with ease.
McGuire appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
Allen scores with the left hand. McGuire knows he should have avoided that one.
Allen lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
McGuire moves forwards but Allen connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Allen throws a combination but it was largely blocked by McGuire.
McGuire misses with a lunging right hand
and Allen counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Allen darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Allen throws a sloppy body shot
and McGuire counters with a straight right hand.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
McGuire needs to keep his hands up - Allen had a free shot at his head there.
