Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Meyer Lanksy (ranked 6411 p4p, 6429 weight class) and Shaqiup Ezzeli (ranked 606 p4p, 613 weight class). Meyer Lanksy has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Meyer Lanksy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shaqiup Ezzeli! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Chad Campbell and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ezzeli avoids the body shot from Lanksy.
Ezzeli is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Lanksy waves his right hand out in front of him, looking to distract Ezzeli. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Ezzeli to the canvas! Can he finish him!?
It looks like Shaqiup Ezzeli has been cut. Ezzeli keeping full guard, as Lanksy tries to pass. Ezzeli controlling Lanksy's posture. Ezzeli should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Ezzeli wants to sweep but no luck. The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Lanksy lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Lanksy jabs at Ezzeli's body. Ezzeli has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Ezzeli gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Lanksy. Lanksy cracks Ezzeli with an uppercut from hell and Ezzeli crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Lanksy's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!

That's two minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Ezzeli managing to control the position. Ezzeli is still in real trouble! Can Lanksy finish him? Ezzeli keeping moving, preventing Lanksy from controlling successfully. Ezzeli bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Lanksy's guard.
Ezzeli seems to have recovered his senses. Lanksy looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ezzeli is one step ahead there. Ezzeli not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Lanksy pulls Ezzeli in to control the position. Ezzeli stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lanksy swivels though and keeps the full guard. Ezzeli seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Meyer Lanksy dominated that round. The cut man is working on Shaqiup Ezzeli's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Lanksy drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Ezzeli tries to improve position but can't. Ezzeli regains half guard. Ezzeli keeping control of the position. Lanksy content to control rather than advance. Ezzeli controlling the position for now. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lanksy prevents Ezzeli from improving his position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ezzeli is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Ezzeli is trying to maintain the position but Lanksy is very close to passing his half guard. Ezzeli moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Ezzeli controlling the position. Ezzeli's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ezzeli can do anything to dispel that myth. Ezzeli is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Ezzeli managing to control the position.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Lanksy stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Lanksy is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Ezzeli can do to turn this around? Ezzeli shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lanksy pinned against the cage. Lanksy gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Lanksy throws a jab but it's blocked by Ezzeli. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Lanksy throws a jab but it's blocked by Ezzeli. Ezzeli closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Lanksy quickly recovers to half guard. Lanksy is looking to improve his position.
Lanksy is in trouble now - Ezzeli has advanced to mount! And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Meyer Lanksy will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Shaqiup Ezzeli's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round! Lanksy digs a good body shot into Ezzeli's ribs. Meyer Lanksy is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Meyer Lanksy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ezzeli tries to score a power double leg takedown but Lanksy sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ezzeli somewhat. Lanksy lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Lanksy stuffs the takedown. Lanksy scores with a jab. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lanksy's corner calls for a 1-2. Lanksy obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Ezzeli takes a shot right to the bread basket. Lanksy scores with a jab to the head.
Lanksy connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Ezzeli has eaten all the pies! A telegraphed right hand from Lanksy misses the target.
That's one minute gone in the round. Good exchange - Lanksy coming out on top. Lanksy is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. A punch lands to the side of Ezzeli 's head but he takes it in his stride. Lanksy connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Ezzeli momentarily.

and Ezzeli counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Ezzeli. Ezzeli is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Ezzeli makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Ezzeli tries to free his leg and advance position but Lanksy is retaining full guard. Ezzeli is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Ezzeli looking to pass the guard. Lanksy can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Ezzeli controls the pace. Shaqiup Ezzeli has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ezzeli stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lanksy swivels though and keeps the full guard. Ezzeli is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Ezzeli tries for a takedown but Lanksy sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. An attempted straight right counter from Lanksy misses the target. Meyer Lanksy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shaqiup Ezzeli. Lanksy misses with a shot to the body and Ezzeli counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ezzeli controlling the action here.
And that's the end of the fight! Meyer Lanksy showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Lanksy, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
