Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Anigav Rennid! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mike Waltston! The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Sandra Marshall and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rennid throws a head kick that misses. Waltston is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Rennid throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Waltston is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. A nice inside leg kick there by Rennid. That's going to slow Waltston down. Rennid misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Waltston tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. A big left from Rennid misses. and Waltston counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Waltston is pushing down on Rennid's leg trying to pass to half guard. Rennid is fighting to maintain full guard but Waltston has managed to sneak the leg through. Waltston with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. It looks like Waltston might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Waltston's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
That's three minutes gone in the round. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Waltston looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Waltston passes the guard and advances to mount! Waltston tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Rennid working to try and regain half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Let's hope that Waltston has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Anigav Rennid will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Anigav Rennid's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! A punch combination from Rennid misses. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Rennid throws a head kick that misses and Waltston counters with a nice double leg into side control. Rennid won't be happy with that. Waltston controlling from side mount. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Waltston. Waltston is continuing to stall.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. More stalling from Waltston. The adventures of Waltston the control monster continue. Boring.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Waltston with more of the same as he continues to hold on. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Yet more stalling tactics from Waltston. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round! Rennid misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Waltston.
Waltston drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Rennid defends it well. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Waltston crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Rennid - the referee stops the clock and Waltston gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Rennid. Waltston manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Rennid tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Rennid misses with a head kick.

Waltston feints the counter takedown. Mike Waltston has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Rennid tries to bum rush Waltston with a series of wild strikes but Waltston uses good footwork to avoid the assault. A bone on bone clash there as Waltston blocks the leg kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Rennid tries a head kick but it misses.

and Waltston counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Waltston. Waltston not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
