Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jean Mbappe (ranked 2470 p4p, 24217 weight class) and Joao Da Silva (ranked 311 p4p, 648 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Joao Da Silva!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Albert Achterberg and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Da Silva lands a lovely overhand right.
Mbappe shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Da Silva defends it nicely.
Mbappe looks for a takedown but Da Silva sprawls well.

Da Silva follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jean Mbappe. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mbappe fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Da Silva avoids it really well and circles away.
A nice side step and Da Silva releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mbappe is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Mbappe has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Da Silva is looking to stand up but Mbappe isn't so interested in that idea.
Mbappe is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Da Silva is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Da Silva has escaped and now he's on top!
Mbappe seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Mbappe drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mbappe jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Mbappe gets to his feet and stands over Da Silva, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Da Silva felt that one! Mbappe unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Da Silva from any more punishment!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jean Mbappe!
