Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Viserys Targaryen (ranked 2245 p4p, 2602 weight class) and Kasper Hansen (ranked 220 p4p, 252 weight class). Kasper Hansen acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Viserys Targaryen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 1, fighting out of The Island, Kasper Hansen!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Michael Johnstone and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hansen will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Hansen tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Targaryen swivels and escapes.
Targaryen throws a counter high kick but Hansen was just alert enough to avoid it.
Hansen dives in for a single leg takedown but Targaryen sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Viserys Targaryen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kasper Hansen.
Hansen staying out of range there.
Targaryen definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Hansen closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Targaryen regains half guard.
Targaryen is trying to get back to full guard.
Hansen trying to control from half guard but Targaryen is working away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hansen is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Targaryen has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hansen is working away from the top position though.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Targaryen lands with a kick to the temple. Hansen shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

It looks like Kasper Hansen has been cut.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Hansen swats away the attempt to clinch by Targaryen.
Hansen shoots and misses
and Targaryen finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.

Hansen shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Targaryen manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Hansen trying to control but Targaryen is working from the bottom.
Targaryen is looking to stand up but Hansen isn't so interested in that idea.

Hansen drops back, looking for a kneebar! Targaryen looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Targaryen looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Targaryen!

Hansen can't do much from the bottom here.
Targaryen in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

Targaryen wants to stand but Hansen is controlling his arm.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Targaryen tries to move to mount but Hansen blocks the move with his legs.
Targaryen wants to control but Hansen is keeping him busy.
Targaryen tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Targaryen is trying to get an arm triangle but Hansen is defending well.
Hansen tries to buck Targaryen off but Targaryen is having none of it.
Targaryen postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Hansen is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hansen can do anything to dispel that myth.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Targaryen wants to stand but Hansen has his arm trapped.
Hansen manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
We've been informed that Hansen has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Hansen wants to advance to full mount but Targaryen doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

Targaryen had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hansen defends it easily.
Hansen postures up in Targaryen's guard and throws a big left but Targaryen blocks it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Targaryen is pulling down on Hansen's head. It's preventing any offense from Hansen, at least for the moment.

Targaryen remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Hansen is looking for a sweep. Targaryen is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Hansen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Targaryen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Targaryen bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hansen's guard.

Hansen is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Hansen working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Targaryen doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Targaryen manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Hansen is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
