Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Spinning Fire (ranked 2349 p4p, 2589 weight class) and Thom Tharrier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thom Tharrier has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Spinning Fire! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 18 - 26 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Thom Tharrier! The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tharrier drops Fire with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Fire looks back up at him and smiles so Tharrier waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Fire is rocked!
It looks like Spinning Fire has been cut. We've been hearing reports that Fire has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Tharrier buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Oh Fire is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Tharrier fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Tharrier throws a poor cross that misses
and Fire counters with a single leg into guard. Tharrier didn't expect that. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Tharrier is looking to stand up but Fire isn't so interested in that idea. Fire seems to have got his legs back now. Fire working some strikes from top position. Tharrier really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fire. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Tharrier pushes Fire off and scrambles back to his feet.
A low kick from Tharrier misses and Fire counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Tharrier looks like he's trying to stand up.
Tharrier is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Ground and pound from Fire. Fire is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Tharrier is looking to escape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fire lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Fire stops Tharrier from getting back to his feet.
Fire wants to lay and pray for a moment but Tharrier keeps working. Ground and pound from Fire. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tharrier is trying to stand.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Fire connects with a nice short shot to Tharrier's temple. Fire is taking a breather. Tharrier says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Fire slips a nice elbow through Tharrier's hands, connecting with Tharrier's forehead. Fire stops Tharrier from getting back to his feet.
Tharrier has hold of Fire's hands but Fire slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Fire working the head and body with strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tharrier is trying to stand up here but Fire is controlling him well. Fire has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Tharrier on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Fire is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Fire looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Tharrier with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Tharrier scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Fire manages to mount him!
Fire raining down hammerfists from mount. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Fire putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
It looks like Thom Tharrier has been cut. Fire landing shots from mount. Fire landing punches.
Tharrier is rocked! Fire drops a big elbow. That's hurt Tharrier! More shots from Fire and the ref steps in! The fight is over!
