The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A thudding body kick lands there by Van Rijn!
The Nanny shoots in but Van Rijn avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Van Rijn gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The Nanny controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Van Rijn keeping moving, preventing The Nanny from controlling successfully.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The Nanny frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Van Rijn tries to hold on but The Nanny pushes him away.

I looks like The Nanny might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Van Rijn gets back to half guard.
The Nanny wants to advance to full mount but Van Rijn doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
The Nanny must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Van Rijn throws a right and a left that The Nanny avoids nicely.
Van Rijn misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from The Nanny.
The Nanny shoots for a double leg takedown but Van Rijn sprawls well. He's pushed The Nanny's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Mike Van Rijn is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

The Nanny feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Van Rijn can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as The Nanny controls the pace.
Let's hope that The Nanny has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. The Nanny connects with a nice short shot to Van Rijn's temple.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Despite being in the dominant position, Manny The Nanny just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Mike Van Rijn is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Van Rijn tries to close the distance and clinch up but The Nanny swats him away and circles back towards the center.
The Nanny shoots in for a double leg but Van Rijn sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

The Nanny shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. The Nanny showed some decent athleticism there.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The Nanny is taking a breather. Van Rijn says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Manny The Nanny showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Van Rijn throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Manny The Nanny is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
