The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nimoy is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Gracie throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Nimoy was covering up waiting for the punch and Gracie finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Nimoy is looking to stand back up but Gracie counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Nimoy.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Nimoy can do anything to dispel that myth.
Gracie trying to pass the guard but Nimoy defending well.
Nimoy is trying to stand up here but Gracie is controlling him well.
Nimoy trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
Nimoy is looking to improve his position but Gracie isn't that keen on the idea.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nimoy is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Nimoy can't keep his opponent in guard - Gracie advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Nimoy is trying to escape back to his feet but Gracie uses the scramble to pass into side control.

Gracie is trying to get an arm triangle but Nimoy is defending well.
Nimoy is pushing Gracie's head away, looking to escape. Gracie manages to hold on to the position though.

Gracie is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Nimoy knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Nimoy wants to control the position but that's not easy when your opponent is in side control! Gracie seems to be going for some sort of submission here. Hard to say what - oh, it's a Brabo choke! He's got it! Nimoy is tapping! Wow, great finish!
