Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 10 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Adam Shalashaska! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Enzo Williams! The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Bart Greer and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shalashaska misses with an uppercut
and Williams counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Williams is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Williams wants to lay and pray for a moment but Shalashaska keeps working. Williams is working for a submission of some sort.
Williams is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Shalashaska makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Shalashaska. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shalashaska escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Williams gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Shalashaska manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Williams manages to get himself to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Shalashaska passes Williams's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Williams is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Shalashaska pulls his head out easily. Shalashaska works his foot free and advances to mount. Williams is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Shalashaska wants to take Williams's back here but Williams is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Williams is desperately trying to improve his position but Shalashaska has a good base and remains in mount. Shalashaska mounts Williams! Really nice guard pass there! Shalashaska looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Shalashaska looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shalashaska looking to secure an arm triangle but Williams defends it well. Williams is desperately trying to improve his position but Shalashaska has a good base and remains in mount. Williams felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Williams tries to hold on but Shalashaska pushes him away. Shalashaska moves to take his opponent's back. I really don't envy Williams right now.
Williams is trying to defend against the choke here but Shalashaska has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Shalashaska Tightens the hold and Williams taps out furiously! Shalashaska displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Adam Shalashaska! A very excited looking Adam Shalashaska rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
