PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Rory Roshi (ranked 4649 p4p, 6386 weight class) and Paul Rue (ranked 582 p4p, 668 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Rory Roshi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Paul Rue!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Peter Branson and Michael Johnstone.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Roshi rushes Rue and presses him up against the ropes.
A nice right hand lands inside from Roshi.
Roshi tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Rue goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Roshi lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Rue lands with a left to the head.
Rue misses with a punch on the inside.

Roshi's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Roshi throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Rue stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
A looping hook to the body misses from Roshi. Rue does a little dance to reset his feet.
Roshi throws a big shot that misses.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Nice body punch from Roshi - that landed with a thud.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Roshi.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Roshi gets through Rue's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Rue prevents a body shot from Roshi.
Roshi lands a body shot.
Rue misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Rue is rocked!
Rue looks winded!
Rue's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Rue is still on wobbly legs! Can Roshi finish him?
Roshi creates a bit of space for himself and unleashed what can only be described as a tiger uppercut, straight out of Street Fighter! Rue crashes to the mat! Can he make it back to his feet in time? 3,4,5,6... it doesn't look like he's going to make it! Rue face plants back to the mat and the referee calls off the fight! Roshi takes it with a brutal technical knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:08 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Rory Roshi!
