Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ramberto Cruz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bang Shishigami! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Luis Engracia and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shishigami tries a head kick but it misses.
Cruz looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Cruz will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Cruz could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Shishigami throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
A head kick misses from Shishigami. Cruz has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. A decent looking body kick lands there for Shishigami. Shishigami is looking to land body kicks. Shishigami throws a head kick but Cruz moves out of range.

Shishigami lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Cruz closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Shishigami to the mat! Shishigami manages to get full guard. Shishigami wants to stand but Cruz is controlling the position. Shishigami trying to keep a closed guard but Cruz is proving a slippery customer.

That's one minute gone in the round. Cruz won't allow Shishigami to sweep him here. Shishigami wants to stand but Cruz is controlling the position. Cruz trying to control the position from guard on top but Shishigami is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Shishigami lands with a slapping head kick. Cruz stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Shishigami. Shishigami throws a quick inside leg kick. A head kick misses from Shishigami. Cruz avoids the head kick by Shishigami.
A head kick misses from Shishigami. Shishigami tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Shishigami keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Shishigami throws a head kick that misses. Shishigami throws a big shot that misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shishigami goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Shishigami misses with a head kick.
Shishigami throws a low kick, looking for Cruz's leg but Cruz calmly moves out of range. Bang Shishigami seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cruz shoots in looking for a takedown. Shishigami tries to sprawl out of it but Cruz keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Shishigami manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ramberto Cruz. That's going to take a lot out of him. Shishigami throws a head kick but Cruz moves out of range.
Bang Shishigami is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Shishigami throws a series of punches but Cruz avoids them all with ease. Shishigami misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Cruz decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Cruz is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Shishigami is just riding it out for now. Cruz eventually gives up the hold. Cruz throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cruz wants to lay and pray for a moment but Shishigami keeps working. Cruz wants to pass to mount but Shishigami is defending the position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Shishigami is refusing to be controlled, as Cruz sits in half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Bang Shishigami will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Cruz takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Shishigami tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Shishigami tries a head kick but it misses.
Shishigami throws a right hand that Cruz ducks under and follows up with a left that Cruz also avoids with ease. Cruz takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Shishigami swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Cruz. Shishigami lands a head kick!
A left and a right from Shishigami both land. Nice combination. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shishigami keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Shishigami with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Cruz tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Shishigami scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shishigami throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Cruz closes the distance and clinches. Shishigami wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Shishigami wants to break free but Cruz has control.
The is referee keeping an eye on Cruz - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Shishigami wants to get back to striking at distance but Cruz won't allow it.
Cruz has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Shishigami uses from the top position. Shishigami trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Cruz trying to keep a closed guard but Shishigami is proving a slippery customer.
Shishigami slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Cruz is trying to keep Shishigami in close.
Cruz is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Shishigami tries to free his leg and advance position but Cruz is retaining full guard. Shishigami would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Shishigami stopping the sweep attempt from Cruz. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Shishigami misses with a head kick.
Shishigami throws a right and a left that both miss. Cruz closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Shishigami to the mat! Shishigami manages to get full guard. Cruz looking to pass the guard. Shishigami wants to stand up but Cruz is controlling him. Shishigami keeping moving, preventing Cruz from controlling successfully. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Cruz is really struggling to control Shishigami but he's trying to hold on to the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Ramberto Cruz will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Shishigami gets caught flat footed, as Cruz shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Cruz slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Cruz wants to lay and pray for a moment but Shishigami keeps working. Shishigami really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cruz. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Cruz wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Shishigami, who protects the arm well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cruz looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Shishigami is looking to reverse the position. Cruz is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Shishigami is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Shishigami is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Cruz has just dragged him back down to the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Cruz thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Shishigami is trying to get back to half guard. Shishigami struggling a bit here. Shishigami is trying to improve his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cruz is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Shishigami knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Cruz works to advance to full mount. Shishigami defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Shishigami tries to improve his position but Cruz has taken his back! Cruz has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Shishigami tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Cruz pushes Shishigami away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
