The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McGee escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Garcilazo gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

McGee throws his legs up looking for a submission but Garcilazo uses it to pass to side control.

McGee is looking for a triangle but Garcilazo pushes his legs off easily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Garcilazo misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
McGee is looking to regain half guard here but Garcilazo keeps moving and retains side control.
Garcilazo wants to lay and pray for a moment but McGee keeps working.
