Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nick Shamrock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karsten Feigel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nick Shamrock! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Karsten Feigel! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Tiny Johnson and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Both fighters circling a little - Feigel finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Shamrock lands a head shot. Shamrock with a body punch. A glancing blow. Shamrock shoots for a takedown but Feigel saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Feigel with a poor takedown and Shamrock decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Feigel's guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Shamrock won't allow Feigel to sweep him here. Shamrock is in close to Feigel's body, working some short punches and elbows. Shamrock trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Feigel looking to control.
Shamrock stands up from guard. Let's bang! Shamrock misses with a looping left. Shamrock closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Feigel really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Shamrock. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Shamrock throws a strike but Feigel avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Shamrock might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Shamrock trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Feigel looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Shamrock with a flurry of punches that miss. Feigel is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Shamrock is breathing heavily. Shamrock landing some decent shots from guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shamrock missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Feigel is trying to control the position but Shamrock postures up. Feigel might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Shamrock kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Feigel is looking to clinch. Feigel closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Shamrock misses with an elbow from the bottom. Shamrock is trying to improve his position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Feigel cracks Shamrock with an elbow. That is naaassty. Shamrock tries to get back to half guard but can't. Shamrock misses with a strike from the bottom. Shamrock throws Feigel to one side and escapes! Shamrock scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Shamrock fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Shamrock scores with a couple of short elbows. Feigel is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Shamrock off and has taken his back! The referee is taking a good look at Shamrock as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Feigel!
Feigel is trying to stick to Shamrock's back but Shamrock is turning into Feigel. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Feigel's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Shamrock.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shamrock trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Shamrock throwing strikes from guard but Feigel blocks nicely. Shamrock throws and elbow that misses. Feigel uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Shamrock's guard. Nice move by Feigel! Shamrock striking off his back but it's not causing Feigel any problems. Feigel seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Shamrock wants to stand up but Feigel is controlling him. Feigel has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Shamrock is proving hard to escape from.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Feigel works over Shamrock with some ground and pound from guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Feigel with a poor takedown and Shamrock decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Feigel's guard. Shamrock won't allow Feigel to sweep him here. Shamrock trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Shamrock thows a big elbow that misses. Shamrock pushing down on Feigel's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Shamrock postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Feigel to stand up. Feigel with a lazy takedown attempt and Shamrock counters with a single leg into guard. Feigel didn't expect that. Nick Shamrock has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Karsten Feigel. Shamrock scores with a decent looking elbow strike. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Shamrock pushes down on Feigel's leg and manages to get into half guard. Feigel is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nick Shamrock dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Shamrock thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Feigel if he has to take too many more of those.
Feigel shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Shamrock counters with a single leg into guard. Feigel didn't expect that. Nick Shamrock overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Feigel wants to sweep but no luck. Shamrock lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Shamrock keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Feigel's head. Shamrock is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Feigel pulls Shamrock in close to prevent any damage. Shamrock postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Feigel is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Feigel tries to land a sweep but no joy.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Shamrock doesn't succeed with the takedown and Feigel counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Shamrock clinches but Feigel breaks the clinch and Feigel counters with a good low kick that Shamrock was not able to check. Shamrock misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Feigel shoots and misses and Shamrock counters with a single leg into guard. Feigel didn't expect that. Shamrock content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Feigel breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Shamrock doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Shamrock tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Feigel gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Shamrock counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Shamrock. Feigel has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Shamrock can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Shamrock decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Shamrock closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Shamrock lands in his opponent's guard. Shamrock has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Feigel is proving hard to escape from. Feigel is working an open guard so Shamrock takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Feigel lands a head kick!

Nick Shamrock dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!

Shamrock is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Shamrock is trying to break free. Feigel tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

and Feigel counters by moving into the clinch. Feigel decides to pull guard. Shamrock loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Shamrock has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Shamrock wanted to stand there but Feigel had control of the position. Shamrock scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Shamrock trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Shamrock wants to clinch and Feigel counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Feigel. Shamrock has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Feigel is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Shamrock gets control of Feigel's arms and successfully pulls guard. Shamrock will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Shamrock will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Feigel scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Nick Shamrock is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Feigel shoots and misses and Shamrock counters with a nice double leg into guard. Nick Shamrock has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Karsten Feigel. Feigel working for a triangle but Shamrock defends it easily.
Feigel is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Nick Shamrock is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Shamrock trying to control the position from guard on top but Feigel is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
And that's the end of the fight! Nick Shamrock showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Shamrock, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
