Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kim Hoo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stephan Steel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Steel's choice of entrance music: Hammerfall-Last man standing. Kim Hoo has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Stephan Steel!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Shigeki Sano and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hoo throws a nice looking combination but Steel bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Hoo throws a right and a left that both miss.
Hoo drops Steel with a nice combination! Hoo dives into Steel's guard, looking to finish!


It looks like Stephan Steel has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Steel is working an open guard so Hoo takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Hoo throws a series of punches but Steel avoids them all with ease.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Steel thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Hoo's head.

Hoo closes the distance and clinches up with Steel, looking for a takedown. Hoo pushes Steel against the cage but Steel circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Steel shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hoo pinned against the cage. Hoo gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

and Steel counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hoo won't be happy with that.

Steel with the ground and pound but Hoo uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Steel wants to control from the top but Hoo keeps moving.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hoo is on top in guard.
Hoo will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Steel wants to stand but Hoo is controlling the position.
Hoo slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Hoo decides to stand up, so the ref orders Steel to his feet.
Hoo lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Steel circles away quickly and effectively.

Hoo feints and as Steel raises his hands in defense, Hoo changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Steel lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Hoo changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Steel looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Hoo has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Steel circles away from the clinch attempt.

Hoo closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hoo lands in his opponent's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hoo advances to half guard.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Steel takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Steel is working to avoid the ground and pound but Hoo connects with a decent elbow.

Steel tries to buck Hoo off but Hoo is having none of it.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Hoo is working Steel over with some ground and pound from side control.

Steel tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Hoo presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Hoo fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Steel is squirming around, avoiding Hoo's attempts to control the action.

Hoo has control of Steel's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Steel regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Steel keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Hoo can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Steel is looking to escape.

The referee warns Steel that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Stephan Steel has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Hoo is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Steel can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Steel manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Steel looks like he's trying to stand up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Hoo takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Hoo scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Steel is looking for a sweep. Hoo is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Hoo seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Hoo is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Steel looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Kim Hoo is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hoo seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Steel does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
