Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Derek Patterson (ranked 3976 p4p, 4036 weight class) and Dougie McFistface (ranked 528 p4p, 0 weight class). Patterson kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is I'm So High. Nashville Pussy. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Patterson's corner calls for a 1-2. Patterson obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

And McFistface tries to counter it with a takedown but Patterson pushes his down on his head and steps out.

The fighters circle momentarily. Patterson darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Patterson throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck McFistface on the side of the head.
Patterson is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Patterson fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and McFistface has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Patterson thuds his right hand into McFistface's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Patterson lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

McFistface takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

McFistface has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

McFistface takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

McFistface walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
McFistface shoots in but no luck this time.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
McFistface is trying to get back to full guard.
McFistface has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Patterson is working away from the top position though.

Patterson is working for a kimura but McFistface is defending it quite comfortably.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
