The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Obama smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Tanner drives through with a takedown into guard.
Obama knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tanner on the ground.
Obama has momentary wrist control but Tanner slips an elbow through the middle.

Tanner won't allow Obama to get back to his feet.
Tanner stays in close to Obama's body and controls the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tanner is working Obama over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Obama wants to sweep here but Tanner controlling him for the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Tanner is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Obama kicks Tanner off and gets to his feet.

Tanner scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Obama sneaks out the side door and pushes Tanner away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Tanner shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Tanner was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Obama is breathing heavily.
You can see the frustration on Obama's face as Tanner controls the position.

Tanner is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Obama knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Tanner goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Obama rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Tanner's guard! Nice work there by Obama!
