Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Smile Telheiras (ranked 1713 p4p, 2533 weight class) and John Jacobs (ranked 220 p4p, 310 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Smile Telheiras! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, John Jacobs! The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Sandra Marshall and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jacobs avoids a punch combination nicely.
Jacobs tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Telheiras throws a series of strikes that have Jacobs backpedaling.
Telheiras has managed to clinch.
Telheiras prevents a takedown attempt there.
Jacobs has Telheiras pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Telheiras manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Jacobs is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Telheiras is defending well. Smile Telheiras has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Jacobs. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jacobs has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Telheiras after a bit of a struggle. Jacobs goes for a takedown in the clinch but Telheiras prevents it.
Telheiras's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Telheiras definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Telheiras!

Telheiras drives through and clinches with Jacobs against the cage.
Jacobs looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Telheiras is defending well against a takedown attempt. Jacobs drops down looking for an ankle pick but Telheiras pulls his leg out and moves away.
Smile Telheiras is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Telheiras rushes Jacobs and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jacobs has clasped his hands together around Telheiras's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Telheiras tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. Telheiras is controlling an arm, preventing Jacobs from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

Jacobs wants to finish this one by submission but Telheiras is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Jacobs. Jacobs trying to control but he's not successful this time. Jacobs is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Telheiras is surviving well by controlling Jacobs's body position as best he can. Jacobs with some aggressive grappling here, looking for the finish.
Jacobs has hold of Telheiras's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Telheiras manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jacobs goes for an armbar but Telheiras turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Telheiras. Telheiras would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Telheiras stands and steps away. Jacobs gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Telheiras scores with a jab to the head.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Telheiras is defending well against a takedown attempt. Jacobs is trying to trip Telheiras. He has hold of a leg but Telheiras is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Jacobs persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Telheiras keeping moving, preventing Jacobs from controlling successfully. Jacobs drops back looking for a leg! Telheiras is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Telheiras manages to kick Jacobs off! Jacobs jumps back into Telheiras's guard. Telheiras wants to stand and escape but Jacobs is having none of it. Telheiras trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Jacobs trying to control but Telheiras is working from the bottom. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Smile Telheiras dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Telheiras stalks Jacobs and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Jacobs's face. Jacobs staggers backwards, shaken. Telheiras gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Telheiras misses with a punch to the body.
Jacobs is trying to drag Telheiras to the mat but Telheiras just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Telheiras effectively controlling the action here. Telheiras is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Jacobs can do to turn this around? Jacobs changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Telheiras fights it off and pushes away nicely.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Telheiras moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Telheiras takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Telheiras's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Telheiras duly obliges. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Jacobs tries to keep at a distance but Telheiras has taken the fight into the clinch.

Smile Telheiras has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Jacobs. Telheiras has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Jacobs regains guard immediately. Telheiras wants to stand and escape but instead Jacobs has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Smile Telheiras dominated that second round. That's time! Telheiras's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Telheiras has closed the distance and engaged Jacobs in a clinch.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Telheiras pulls guard effortlessly. Jacobs drops back, looking for a kneebar! Telheiras looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Telheiras looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Telheiras! Telheiras wants to stand but Jacobs has his arm trapped. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jacobs manages to work his way to half guard, despite Telheiras's best efforts.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jacobs is looking to control Telheiras's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Jacobs avoid being mounted? Telheiras tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Jacobs.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Telheiras with a jab. Smile Telheiras is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A combination from Telheiras does no damage. A decent looking cross lands there for Telheiras. Telheiras moves into the clinch successfully.

Jacobs is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Telheiras rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jacobs moves out of range and avoids them all easily. John Jacobs has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Smile Telheiras is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. This has been an exciting period of action! Telheiras lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jacobs circles away quickly and effectively.
And that's the end of the fight! Smile Telheiras showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Telheiras, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
