Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Joon Choi (ranked 4480 p4p, 5621 weight class) and William S Burroughs (ranked 567 p4p, 634 weight class). The key to victory for Joon Choi has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joon Choi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, William S Burroughs! The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Tarja Halkonen and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Burroughs scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Choi's coaches at Hitters have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position. Burroughs misses with a head shot. Choi uses the momentum to regain guard. Burroughs trying to move into half guard but instead Choi has managed to sweep! Choi won't allow Burroughs to sweep him here. Burroughs working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Choi doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Choi manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Burroughs throws his legs up looking for a submission but Choi uses it to pass to side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Burroughs keeping his opponent close.
That's one minute gone in the round. Choi prevents Burroughs from escaping the position. Burroughs throws Choi to one side and escapes! Choi slips under a jab from Burroughs. Choi is looking to counter with head kicks. Choi displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Burroughs throws out the jab. Burroughs misses with a straight left. Burroughs throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Burroughs shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Burroughs was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Burroughs remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Burroughs misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Burroughs working the ground and pound but Choi is defending the strikes. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Burroughs cracks Choi with an elbow. That is naaassty. Burroughs working the head and body with strikes. Burroughs working the strikes but Choi uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Burroughs not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Burroughs is keen to just control but Choi is a slippery customer. Burroughs lands strikes from half guard. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Burroughs lands a nice short elbow. Choi is not content to let Burroughs control the position. Burroughs seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Burroughs with the ground and pound but Choi uses the opportunity to regain guard. Choi is breathing heavily. Burroughs distracts Choi with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Burroughs trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Burroughs trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Burroughs throws a big right hand that misses. Burroughs trying to control but Choi is working from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Choi can't keep his opponent in guard - Burroughs advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Burroughs is taking a breather. Choi says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Choi is not content to let Burroughs control the position. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Burroughs thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
William S Burroughs dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. A telegraphed right hand from Burroughs misses the target. Choi looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit. Burroughs ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. William S Burroughs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Choi slips under a jab from Burroughs. Donk. Burroughs catches Choi right on the button with a cross. Burroughs swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Choi thinks about countering with a head kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Choi keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Choi throws a quick counter head kick but Burroughs was just out of range. Donk. Burroughs catches Choi right on the button with a cross. Burroughs swings and misses with a hook to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Burroughs misses with a looping right. Choi thinks about countering with a head kick. Burroughs throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Choi sees it coming and avoids it easily. Burroughs has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Burroughs closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Choi quickly recovers to half guard. Choi wants to get back to his feet. Burroughs is looking to take a break and control but Choi is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Burroughs thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Choi's head. Burroughs not landing any meaningful shots this time. William S Burroughs has got the better of the ground game so far. Burroughs passes the guard and advances to mount! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Choi holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Burroughs tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Burroughs raining down hammerfists from mount. Burroughs throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

That's three minutes gone in the round. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Burroughs cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Choi is rocked! Burroughs cracks Choi with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
