PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mizark Coleman (ranked 1527 p4p, 2214 weight class) and Frank Blank (ranked 44 p4p, 71 weight class). Coleman comes to the cage accompanied by The Roid Rage Holla. Frank Blank will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mizark Coleman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Frank Blank!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Peter Branson and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blank tries to close the distance and clinch but Coleman swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Blank leaves Coleman with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Blank dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Coleman seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Blank fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Blank throws a shot to the body.
Blank misses with a body shot.
Blank throws a push kick but Coleman slaps the foot to one side.

Coleman feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Coleman postures up in Blank's guard and throws a big left but Blank blocks it.
Blank pulls Coleman in close to prevent any damage.
Coleman postures up.
Coleman trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Blank avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Coleman looking to sit in guard and control but Blank gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Coleman is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Coleman is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Coleman has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Blank has passed into side control.
Coleman tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Blank wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Blank gets to mount! Coleman was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Blank tries to control but Coleman wriggling away.

Coleman is looking to get to half guard.
Blank trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Coleman is working to get back to half guard.

Coleman is squirming around, avoiding Blank's attempts to control the action.
Coleman is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Blank prevents Coleman from getting the reversal.
Coleman on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Coleman tries to get out of the position.
Coleman regains half guard.
Blank wants to control but Coleman is keeping him busy.
Coleman slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Blank's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Coleman seems keen to control Blank's posture.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Coleman throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Coleman trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Blank trying to control the position from guard on top but Coleman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Coleman will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Blank lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Coleman looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Blank avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Coleman.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Coleman throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Blank to regain full guard.
Coleman throws a strike but Blank rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Frank Blank dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Coleman gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Blank counters with a series of strikes. Coleman will be more careful next time no doubt.
Danga de danga de dang - Blank scores with a four punch combination!
Blank lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Blank.
Blank is looking to score with low kicks.

Coleman moves into the clinch successfully.
Blank blocks an elbow strike.
Coleman is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Coleman throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Coleman throws an elbow that misses.

Coleman lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Coleman drops an elbow to the side of Blank's head.

It looks like Frank Blank has been cut.
Mizark Coleman overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Coleman slips a nice elbow through Blank's hands, connecting with Blank's forehead.

That has opened up Frank Blank's cut even more.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Coleman throwing shots but Blank is blocking nicely.
Blank looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Coleman looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Blank with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The cut above Frank Blank's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Frank Blank's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Mizark Coleman!
After the fight, Mizark Coleman was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
