Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dick Winters (ranked 222 p4p, 790 weight class) and Marcus Behnder (ranked 34 p4p, 118 weight class). Winters comes to the cage accompanied by All Along the Watchtower. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 1, fighting out of The Island, Marcus Behnder!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Santiago Holmes and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Behnder keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Behnder shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Winters is trying to defend but Behnder finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Behnder is looking for a kimura but Winters is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Behnder to get the leverage.

Behnder is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Winters's coaches at Muay Thai and BJJ | Clinchwork have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.
Winters is holding on to half guard well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Behnder tries to pass to full mount but Winters defends it.

Winters manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Behnder manages to get himself to full guard.

Behnder isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Winters stacks Behnder on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Winters!

Winters in side control, throwing shots but Behnder defends.
Behnder tries to buck Winters off but Winters is having none of it.

Winters wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Behnder, who protects the arm well.
Behnder tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Behnder wants to control but Winters postures up.

Behnder is letting Winters control him for a moment.
Winters's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Behnder is looking to reverse the position.
Winters is looking to take a break and control but Behnder is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Winters staying calm.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Behnder is looking to reverse the position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Behnder shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Winters pinned against the cage. Winters gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Winters shoots for a takedown but Behnder saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Behnder tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Winters paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Winters looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Behnder looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Winters looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Nice sprawl there from Winters as Behnder shoots in.
Winters went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Winters closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Behnder struggling a bit here.
Winters wants to control but Behnder is keeping him busy.

Winters goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Behnder rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Winters's guard! Nice work there by Behnder!

Behnder drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Winters dives on top into guard.

Behnder wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Winters is now in half guard.

Behnder is looking for a sweep. Winters is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Behnder controlling the position for now.
Behnder is trying to maintain the position but Winters is very close to passing his half guard.

Behnder is trying to get back to full guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Behnder is trying to control Winters's posture but Winters avoids it.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Behnder fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Behnder shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Dick Winters has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcus Behnder.
Behnder looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Behnder tries to sprawl but Winters drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Winters content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Winters is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Behnder defends it well.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Behnder is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Winters rolls with it to try and escape but Behnder cranks on the arm and Winters is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
