Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Trent Punchy (ranked 523 p4p, 1296 weight class) and Gael Grappler (ranked 77 p4p, 201 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Trent Punchy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Gael Grappler! The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Peter Branson and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Grappler has closed the distance and engaged Punchy in a clinch.
Grappler blocks an uppercut.
Punchy tries to pull guard but Grappler won't allow it.
Punchy can't get the takedown.
Grappler gets underhooks to prevent Punchy's takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Trent Punchy. That's going to take a lot out of him. Punchy throws a punch but it's blocked by Grappler. Grappler throws a knee to the head but misses.
Grappler lands a nice elbow. Punchy dodges an elbow strike from Grappler.

Nice elbow from Grappler. Grappler pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Grappler lands an elbow just above Punchy 's eye. A head punch blocked on the inside by Punchy. Punchy tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Grappler content to slow the pace in the clinch.

Grappler told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight. Punchy looking to slow down the pace here. Punchy misses with a punch to the body.
Grappler lands an elbow inside that Punchy shrugs off.
It looks like Trent Punchy has been cut. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Grappler tries to throw a body punch but Punchy avoids it by throwing Grappler back against the cage. Grappler tries to land a knee to the head but Punchy blocks with his arms.
That's one minute gone in the round. Grappler tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Punchy's elbow. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Grappler just misses with a elbow thrown towards Punchy's brow. Punchy turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Punchy manages to end up in side control. Punchy has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Grappler sneaks back into half guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Grappler can do anything to dispel that myth. Punchy wants to lay and pray for a moment but Grappler keeps working. Grappler really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Punchy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Grappler is holding on to half guard well. Punchy is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Grappler defends it well. Grappler controlling the position well. Grappler is looking to control Punchy's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Grappler avoid being mounted?
That's two minutes gone in the round. Punchy wants to control but Grappler is keeping him busy. Grappler tries to roll over but Punchy keeps him under control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Grappler is not content to let Punchy control the position. Grappler trying to control here.
Punchy is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Grappler has managed to free his arm - good work. Grappler regains full guard. Nicely done. Punchy pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Grappler is keeping the position for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Punchy trying to control the position from guard on top but Grappler is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Grappler looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Punchy wants to control from the top but Grappler keeps moving. Grappler can't keep his opponent in guard - Punchy advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Punchy prevents Grappler from improving his position. Punchy has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Grappler defend it? Punchy steps over the head and cranks it - Grappler is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Punchy!
