Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ricky Luciano!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Brett Shoenfeld!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Santiago Holmes and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shoenfeld is trying hard to land a takedown here. Luciano sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Luciano was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Shoenfeld shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Shoenfeld doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Luciano counters with a nice right hand that sends Shoenfeld toppling to the canvas! Shoenfeld scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Luciano finish him?!
Ricky Luciano has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brett Shoenfeld.
No joy there for Shoenfeld, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Shoenfeld staying out of range there.
Shoenfeld moves out of range as Luciano strikes.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Shoenfeld throws a sloppy head kick
and Luciano counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Shoenfeld is rocked!
Shoenfeld switches off momentarily and Luciano cracks him with a monster right hand! Shoenfeld topples backwards and makes a semi conscious attempt to cover up, as Luciano dives in to land one more shot, before the referee has time to call the fight. What a finish by Luciano!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ricky Luciano!
In his post fight interview, Ricky Luciano started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
