Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Takeshi Yuudai (ranked 520 p4p, 1183 weight class) and Anwar Rinda (ranked 56 p4p, 126 weight class). Anwar Rinda will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Takeshi Yuudai!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Anwar Rinda!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Santiago Holmes and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Yuudai shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Rinda manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Rinda had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Yuudai defends it easily.

Rinda is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Yuudai is aware though and is defending well.
Yuudai has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Rinda keeping moving, preventing Yuudai from controlling successfully.
Yuudai controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Yuudai avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Yuudai stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rinda swivels though and keeps the full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rinda is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Rinda working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Yuudai doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Yuudai manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Rinda has his foot on Yuudai's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Yuudai works his way back into a safe position though.

Rinda escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Yuudai gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Yuudai got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rinda has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Yuudai has managed to get both his arms back between Rinda's legs - danger averted.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Yuudai stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rinda swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Yuudai wants to control from the top but Rinda keeps moving.
Yuudai might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Rinda looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Yuudai passes into side control.

Yuudai tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Yuudai has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Rinda regains half guard.
Yuudai is trying to control. Rinda wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Rinda is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Rinda has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Hardcore Island MMA. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

Yuudai has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Rinda defend it? Yuudai steps over the head and cranks it - Rinda is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Yuudai!
