The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Hoca's coach down at Walter J Abramowitz Center for Bigness was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Hoca's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Del Valle tries to move into range but Hoca moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Del Valle uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Hoca.
Del Valle 's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Hoca connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Del Valle scrambles back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hoca is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Del Valle had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.
Hoca pounces like a tiger and cracks Del Valle with a vicious hook! Del Valle is down but not out! Hoca follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
