Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hugh Honey (ranked 492 p4p, 727 weight class) and Darry Curtis (ranked 68 p4p, 95 weight class). Honey comes to the cage accompanied by Higher Love. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 30 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Hugh Honey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 16 - 1, fighting out of New York, Darry Curtis!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Tiny Johnson and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Honey ducks under a wild hook from Curtis.
Honey has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Alpha Brasil in the buildup to the fight.
Honey scores with a three punch combo!

It looks like Darry Curtis has been cut.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
A telegraphed right hand from Honey misses the target.
Honey connects with a single shot there.
Curtis throws the left hand but Honey avoids the punch easily.
A looping hook to the body misses from Curtis. Honey does a little dance to reset his feet.
Honey tries to bum rush Curtis with a series of wild strikes but Curtis uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Curtis let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Curtis throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Curtis goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Curtis throws a nice outside leg kick.
Curtis sizes up Honey with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Honey misses with an uppercut
and Curtis makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Curtis wants to slow Honey down by chopping away at his legs.

Honey moves into the clinch.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Honey blocks an uppercut.
Honey is trying to maintain a safe position but Curtis gets an underhook and turns Honey into the cage.
Honey gets through Curtis's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Honey tries a body shot but Curtis blocks it.

Curtis breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Curtis throws a body punch but Honey moves out of range.
A low kick from Curtis misses
and Honey makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Curtis misses with a wild combination.
Curtis with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Honey to score with a decent uppercut.
Honey throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Honey takes the fight into the clinch.
Curtis lands a right hand.

Curtis breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Curtis has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Curtis circles away from the clinch attempt
enabling Curtis to counter with a crisp jab.
Curtis missing with a left hand there. Honey was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Honey cracks Curtis with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Honey tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Curtis paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Curtis ducks under a wild hook from Honey.
Honey throws a shot to the body.
Curtis takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
A shot to the liver by Honey. Beautiful body shot.
Curtis ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Curtis appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Curtis looks to throw the jab but Honey is out of range.
Honey tries to clinch but Curtis is having none of it.
Honey showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Curtis.
An attempted straight right counter from Honey misses the target.
Honey dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Curtis. That did some damage!

Honey fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Curtis, pushing him back against the cage.
Honey throws a head punch that misses.
Honey misses with a punch to the body.
Curtis lands an uppercut.
Curtis misses with a body punch.
Honey throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Curtiss head.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Curtis misses with the head strike.
Curtis prevents a body shot from Honey.
Curtis throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Curtis misses with the head strike.
Honey misses with a short punch on the inside.
Honey tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Honey.
Honey swings wildly with an uppercut but Curtis uses good head movement to avoid it.
Honey wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Curtis pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Honey misses with a two punch combination.
Despite the aggression on Curtis's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Honey slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Honey bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Curtis's head.
Honey falls off balance throwing a combination
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Curtis just misses with a punch to the body.
Honey throws a nice head kick!
Curtis throws a sloppy head kick and Honey moves out of range easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Curtis misses with a jab to the body
and Honey counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Curtis digs a good body shot into Honey's ribs.
Honey ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Honey slips under a jab from Curtis.
A little feinted left hand from Honey on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Curtis lands with a thumping leg kick.
Curtis throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Honey on the side of the head.
Honey scores with a punch to the head.
Curtis wants to clinch.
An attempted straight right counter from Honey misses the target.

Curtis gets a clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Hugh Honey will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Darry Curtis's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Honey tries to throw a body punch but Curtis avoids it by throwing Honey back against the cage.

Curtis manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Honey moves out of range of the strikes.
Honey drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Hugh Honey seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Honey lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Curtis circles away quickly and effectively.
Curtis connects with a body shot that sends Honey's belly button to the back.
Curtis fails to land with a series of punches.
Honey swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
A punch lands to the side of Curtis 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Curtis throws out a powerful jab.
Curtis swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Honey counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Curtis moves out of range of the leg kick from Honey.
Curtis takes a shot to the body in his stride.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Honey checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Honey throws a right hand that Curtis ducks under and follows up with a left that Curtis also avoids with ease.
Nice cross by Honey.
The fighters circle momentarily. Honey darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Curtis is rocked!

That has opened up Darry Curtis's cut even more.
Honey takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Curtis is still on wobbly legs! Can Honey finish him?

and Honey counters with a big left hand that crumples Curtis! He was out before he hit the floor! Brutal knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Hugh Honey!
A very excited looking Hugh Honey rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
The defeated Darry Curtis had this to say: 'Thank you to the fans who came out to watch me. I will come back stronger. '.
