Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Juan Carlos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Modi Lo!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Lou da Vinci and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Carlos fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Lo sprawls well initially but Carlos persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Carlos is looking for a kimura here.

Carlos is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Lo is just riding it out for now. Carlos eventually gives up the hold.
Lo is trying to get back to full guard.
Carlos passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Lo!
Lo is wriggling around trying to escape.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Carlos trying to control but Lo is having none of it.
Lo tries to reverse the position but Carlos maintains control.

Carlos has control of Lo's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Lo regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Carlos pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Carlos forces the positional change into back control.
Lo tries to break free.
Carlos trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.

Lo can't escape the position.

Carlos is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Lo is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Carlos is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Lo. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.
