Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between James Callahan (ranked 4492 p4p, 3485 weight class) and Brendan Lawson (ranked 241 p4p, 196 weight class). Callahan comes to the cage accompanied by The Beatles- Help!. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, James Callahan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Brendan Lawson! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Eddie Farnsworth and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lawson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Callahan was covering up waiting for the punch and Lawson finishes the takedown easily into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lawson pushing down on Callahan's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lawson wants to control but Callahan is keeping him busy. Callahan wants to get back to full guard. Lawson keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Callahan's coaches at Finland's Finest MMA Gym have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position. Lawson seems to be looking for submissions.

Lawson wants to take a breather but Callahan is having none of it. Callahan slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lawson wants to control from the top but Callahan keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lawson showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Lawson looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Callahan is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Lawson controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Lawson wants to control from the top but Callahan keeps moving. Callahan looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Lawson trying to control but Callahan is working from the bottom. Lawson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Lawson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Callahan can't keep his opponent in guard - Lawson advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Lawson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Callahan is just riding it out for now. Lawson eventually gives up the hold.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Callahan regains full guard. Nicely done. Lawson won't allow Callahan to sweep him here. Lawson wants to control from the top but Callahan keeps moving. Callahan wants to sweep here but Lawson controlling him for the moment. Lawson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Lawson advances position into side control! Lawson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Callahan is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Callahan seems a little lost for a moment, as Lawson dominates the positioning. Callahan is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Callahan looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Lawson pushes past his half guard into mount! And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Brendan Lawson dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Lawson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Callahan! Callahan is looking for a sweep. Lawson is working to tighten his grip on Callahan's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Callahan has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Lawson is really squeezing tight and eventually Callahan passes out! Lawson breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
