Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dmitry Boytsov (ranked 1505 p4p, 1262 weight class) and Walter Payton (ranked 226 p4p, 189 weight class). Payton has chosen Andre Nickatina - Yeah as his entrance music. Walter Payton has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dmitry Boytsov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Walter Payton!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Percy O'Donnell and Jack Bonds.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Payton misses with a straight right.
Boytsov has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Payton throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Boytsov.
Boytsov changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Payton tests Boytsov's chin there with a solid looking shot.

It looks like Dmitry Boytsov has been cut.

Payton drops Boytsov with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Boytsov looks back up at him and smiles so Payton waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Boytsov is rocked!
Payton has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Boytsov drops his hands momentarily. Payton doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Boytsov staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Boytsov doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Walter Payton!
After the fight, Walter Payton was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
