Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Blake Leopoldo (ranked 3065 p4p, 5714 weight class) and Fabricio Bettin (ranked 403 p4p, 585 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Blake Leopoldo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fabricio Bettin!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Bettin misses.
Leopoldo just misses with a punch to the body.
Leopoldo ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bettin moves away.
Leopoldo closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bettin circles away.
Bettin changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Leopoldo gets the takedown into side control.
Bettin felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Bettin is trying to get back to his feet.
Bettin gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Leopoldo looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Bettin is trying to escape the mount.
Leopoldo controlling the pace for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
You get the feeling that Bettin really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Leopoldo can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Bettin is looking to escape.
Bettin tries to hold on but Leopoldo postures up.
Bettin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Leopoldo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Bettin can't escape the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bettin is trying to escape the mount but Leopoldo keeps good control and instead manages to take Bettin's back.
Leopoldo controls the position.
Bettin is trying to stand back up.

Bettin tries to escape but he's let his defenses down in doing so and Leopoldo has slipped in the rear naked choke! Oh, that's tiiiiiiiiight! Bettin is tapping! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

Blake Leopoldo bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
