Coming up we have a welterweight kickboxing rules bout between Flavio Ruas (ranked 6439 p4p, 19110 weight class) and Cyrius Python (ranked 595 p4p, 614 weight class). The key to victory for Flavio Ruas has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Flavio Ruas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 27 - 25 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Cyrius Python! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Colin Fotheringham and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Python misses with a head kick.

That was a close round but I would say that Flavio Ruas will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Cyrius Python's cut. That's the end of the interval. Python tries to clinch up. Ruas uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Ruas throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Python slips under a jab. Python follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land. Ruas digs a good body shot into Python's ribs. Python stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Ruas. Ruas throws the kick towards the body but Python avoids it. Ruas throws a hook to the side of Python's head but Python sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Python tries to clinch there but Ruas circles away.
Ruas is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Python is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Python drops his hands momentarily and Ruas takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Python is the more experienced fighter here and he's going to need to draw on some of that experience if he's going to pull this one out the bag. Ruas cracks Python with a right hand to the side of the head. Python fails in his attempt to clinch. Ruas swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Ruas is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Python can do to turn this around? Ruas gets tackled into the ropes by Python. Python maintains the clinch. It looks like Flavio Ruas has been cut. I was talking to Ruas's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Python's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Ruas jabbing away but nothing is landing. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Python! But no joy. Python moves out of range of the strikes.
