Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Gman Writ!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Rocky Raccoon!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Johanna Lukiainen and Arvi Lind.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Writ looks to throw the jab but Raccoon is out of range.
Raccoon swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Raccoon clinches up with Writ and pushes him back against the cage.
Raccoon breaks from the clinch.
Raccoon throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Writ's waist but Writ gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Raccoon off to one side.
Raccoon scores with a hook to the body. Writ takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Raccoon drops Writ with a beautiful combination! Writ stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Raccoon is looking for the KO!
It looks like Gman Writ has been cut.
Writ is breathing heavily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Raccoon is defended easily by Writ.
Raccoon throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Writ moves in looking to clinch but Raccoon pushes him off.
Raccoon closes the distance and clinches up with Writ, looking for a takedown. Raccoon pushes Writ against the cage but Writ circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Gman Writ has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rocky Raccoon.
Raccoon moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Writ gets a clinch.
Raccoon pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Writ tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Raccoon avoids it.
Writ wants to take the fight to the mat but Raccoon manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

It looked like Writ was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Raccoon.

I was talking to Writ's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Raccoon escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Raccoon drops Writ with a straight right hand, right on the button! Raccoon follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rocky Raccoon!
