Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Owain Conrad (ranked 4819 p4p, 6034 weight class) and Cordell Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Walker is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Eyes of a Ranger. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cordell Walker!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Alan Glass and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Walker tries to keep at a distance but Conrad has taken the fight into the clinch.

Conrad drives through with a takedown into Walker's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Conrad has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Walker uses from the top position.

Walker is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Conrad is staying active.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Conrad bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Walker avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Conrad.

Conrad is staying tight to Walker's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Conrad thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Conrad is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Walker has escaped the position, nice work there.

Walker tries to buck Conrad off but Conrad is having none of it.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!

Conrad throws a right hand that Walker ducks under and follows up with a left that Walker also avoids with ease.
Walker tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Conrad paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Walker throws a hook to the side of Conrad's head but Conrad sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Conrad misses with a series of wild punches.
Walker shoots in looking for a takedown. Conrad tries to sprawl out of it but Walker keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Conrad manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Owain Conrad overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Conrad's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Walker enables Conrad to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Walker manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Conrad is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Walker not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Conrad decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Walker, up you get!

and Conrad counters with a three punch combo that has Walker backing up. Walker nods at Conrad to acknowledge the strikes.

Cordell Walker has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Conrad seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Walker for as long as he can get away with.

Well Conrad has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
