Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Fusi!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab from Fusi.
Fusi misses with a straight right.
We've been informed that Fusi has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Spanner uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Fusi.
A head kick misses from Fusi.
Fusi throws a sloppy body shot
and Spanner counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Fusi thinking.
Fusi takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Fusi throws a head kick but Spanner moves out of range.
Spanner is looking to counter with head kicks.
Fusi keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Spanner swings for the body but Fusi moves out of range.
Fusi throws a shot from downtown. Spanner moves away and avoids it.
Spanner takes one to the chin there.
A nice leg kick lands there from Spanner.
Fusi closes the distance and lands a one-two.

It looks like Bleeding Spanner has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sloppy strikes from Fusi. Those never looked like landing.
An attempted straight right counter from Spanner misses the target.

and Fusi takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Fusi misses with an uppercut.

Spanner attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

Fusi misses with a hook
and Spanner counters with a series of strikes. Fusi will be more careful next time no doubt.
Fusi takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

It looks like James Fusi has been cut.
Fusi throws a body shot but no joy.
Spanner avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Fusi lands with a hook. Spanner tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Spanner looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Fusi lands a body shot.
Spanner takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Spanner misses with a hook.
Spanner uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Fusi.
Spanner slips under a jab from Fusi.
Fusi misses with a straight right.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Spanner uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Fusi.
James Fusi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fusi on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Fusi might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Spanner cracks Fusi with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Fusi falls to his knees and Spanner doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bleeding Spanner!
