Smith comes to the cage accompanied by Blink 182 feat Robert Smith - All of This. Gina Carano has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Robert Smith's chin.

The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Seu Braga and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Smith or perhaps it was just good defense by Carano which made him look bad.
Smith moves out of range of the strikes.
Carano throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Smith uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Carano.
Smith shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Smith throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
Carano holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Smith tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Carano wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Carano can do anything to dispel that myth.

Smith stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Carano swivels though and keeps the full guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Carano holds on and takes a little breather.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Smith is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Carano is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Carano wants to stand up but Smith is controlling him.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Smith wants to control from the top but Carano keeps moving.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Smith bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Smith is keen to just control but Carano is a slippery customer.
Smith is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Carano doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Smith.
