Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hayn Diesel (ranked 413 p4p, 592 weight class) and Mustafa Owens (ranked 60 p4p, 91 weight class). Diesel comes into the arena with Outerspass - Der Pump blaring out of the sound system. Mustafa Owens will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diesel tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Owens defends well and Diesel ends up having to push Owens into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Diesel drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Owens throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Diesel has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Owens after a bit of a struggle.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hayn Diesel. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Owens throws a punch but it's blocked by Diesel.
Diesel tries to pull guard but Owens forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Diesel definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Diesel drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Owens gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Owens breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Diesel dives in and scores a takedown into Owens's guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
A low kick lands for Owens.
Diesel misses with a takedown attempt
and Owens makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
No luck for Diesel with that takedown attempt.
Diesel closes this distance looking for a takedown but Owens circles away.
Owens cracks Diesel with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

It looks like Hayn Diesel has been cut.

Diesel closes the distance and pushes Owens back into the cage.

A head punch blocked on the inside by Diesel.
Diesel jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Owens walks away with a smile on his face. Diesel gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

and Owens counters with a crisp right hand that drops Diesel! Owens lets Diesel back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

Diesel is rocked!

Hayn Diesel's cut is getting worse.
Diesel goes for a double leg but Owens avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Owens continues to drive forward.
Oh Diesel is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Owens lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Diesel tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Owens just stands there and leans against the cage.

Diesel pulls guard successfully.
Diesel seems to have got his legs back now.
Owens preventing the sweep.
Diesel is working hard here to advance position.
Owens controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Owens really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Diesel. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Diesel is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Owens preventing the sweep.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Owens must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

and Owens counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Hayn Diesel's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

Jeez, Hayn Diesel's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
Diesel will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Diesel is breathing heavily.
Diesel looks up at the clock. Bad move! Owens lands a right hand from hell, dropping Diesel. Owens pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mustafa Owens!
Mustafa Owens spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
