Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jerricho Patterson (ranked 6810 p4p, 12812 weight class) and Steve The Smiling Assassin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jerricho Patterson could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Steve The Smiling Assassin's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jerricho Patterson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 17 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Steve The Smiling Assassin! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The Smiling Assassin fails with an attempt to clinch.
Patterson tried to counter with a leg kick but The Smiling Assassin avoided it. The Smiling Assassin fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Patterson, pushing him back against the cage. The Smiling Assassin throws a head punch that misses. The Smiling Assassin misses with the head strike.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Patterson. A nice glancing elbow lands by Patterson.
It looks like Steve The Smiling Assassin has been cut. The Smiling Assassin misses with the head strike.
The Smiling Assassin swings away with an uppercut that misses.
The Smiling Assassin lands a left hand.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Patterson. Patterson turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! The Smiling Assassin is looking for a sweep. That's one minute gone in the round. The Smiling Assassin tries to get to full guard but Patterson has control of the leg. The Smiling Assassin flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Patterson is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, The Smiling Assassin has managed to free his arm - good work. The Smiling Assassin missing with punches from the bottom.
The Smiling Assassin makes his way to full guard. A much better position for The Smiling Assassin. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The Smiling Assassin throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. The Smiling Assassin thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. The Smiling Assassin preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Patterson wants to pass the guard but The Smiling Assassin is keeping the position. Patterson is working hard here to advance position. The Smiling Assassin throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Patterson wants to control from the top but The Smiling Assassin keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The Smiling Assassin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The Smiling Assassin throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Patterson stands and throws The Smiling Assassin's legs to the side, diving into side control. Patterson working the ground and pound but The Smiling Assassin is defending the strikes. Patterson blocks the strikes from The Smiling Assassin.

He has the arm isolated but The Smiling Assassin is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. The Smiling Assassin is trying to get back to half guard. Patterson tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Patterson tries for a kimura but The Smiling Assassin is defending well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Patterson working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. The Smiling Assassin throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land. Patterson looking to punish the body of his opponent here but The Smiling Assassin is avoiding damage well.
The Smiling Assassin throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land. The Smiling Assassin throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.
Patterson looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Patterson wants to control but The Smiling Assassin is keeping him busy. The Smiling Assassin lands with an elbow strike from the bottom. Patterson blocks the strikes from The Smiling Assassin.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. The Smiling Assassin is looking for a sweep. The Smiling Assassin tries to strike but it doesn't land. Patterson is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. The Smiling Assassin looks calm but he's in trouble here. Patterson gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. The Smiling Assassin is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Patterson lets go of the hold and The Smiling Assassin can pop his arm back in it's socket.
