PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Omega El Guapo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Inamen Rexus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). El Guapo kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is You Call My Name. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
El Guapo takes a body punch but keeps moving.
El Guapo changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rexus tries to avoid it but El Guapo manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rexus to the ground. Rexus escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
El Guapo cracks Rexus with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Rexus fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Nice body kick there by El Guapo.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

El Guapo shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Rexus's guard.

El Guapo drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and El Guapo jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

El Guapo will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

El Guapo has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rexus can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

El Guapo bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Rexus wants to get back to his feet but El Guapo is dominant here and he's now got Rexus's back!
El Guapo is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. El Guapo gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. El Guapo gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. El Guapo apologises and we restart here on the feet.
El Guapo shoots for a double leg takedown but Rexus sprawls well. He's pushed El Guapo's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
