This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the middleweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Rio de Janeiro, with a TWGC record of 6 wins and 3 losses; Arthur Menezes! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Amsterdam, with a TWGC record of 13 wins and 9 losses; Jurgen Tetsuo! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Alec Ball and Gregory Folan.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Menezes moves into the clinch. Tetsuo has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Menezes after a bit of a struggle. Menezes pulls guard effortlessly. Menezes working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Tetsuo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Tetsuo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Menezes is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Tetsuo is aware though and is defending well. Tetsuo must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Tetsuo stays in close to Menezes's body and controls the position. Tetsuo avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
