This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 10 wins and 9 losses; Ricco Torres! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Dillan Fox and Ian Loll.
Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? Torres slaps away a takedown attempt from Tormenta, before circling back to the center of the mat. Tormenta gets in close and instigates a clinch. Tormenta tries to score a body lock takedown but Torres shows good agility there to stay on his feet. But no, Tormenta has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Torres but great work by Tormenta. Torres is pressing down on Tormenta's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Tormenta's corner is telling him to maintain position. We've been hearing good reports from Tormenta's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Tormenta has control of Torres's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Torres regains control of the situation pretty easily.
