Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lesser Scaup (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carbon Keith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lesser Scaup looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lesser Scaup!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Carbon Keith!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Yves DeLean and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scaup fails to land the takedown.
Keith misses with a takedown

and Scaup counters with a takedown into side control.
Keith wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.
Scaup trying to control the position but Keith is working away.
You can see the frustration on Keith's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Keith is looking to regain half guard here but Scaup keeps moving and retains side control.
The strikes coming from Scaup are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Keith manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Keith content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Scaup is trying to get back to full guard.

Keith is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Scaup has managed to free his arm - good work.
Keith trying to control the pace.

Keith stands up and beckons Scaup to join him on the feet.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Keith swings for the body but Scaup moves out of range.
Scaup with a poor takedown

and Keith counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Scaup is breathing heavily.
Scaup pulls Keith in to control the position.
Keith content to stall in guard here.
Keith's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Let's hope that Keith has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Keith wants to control from the top but Scaup keeps moving.
Keith stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Scaup swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Keith showing good wrestling skills to control the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Keith wants to control from the top but Scaup keeps moving.

Despite being in the dominant position, Carbon Keith just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Keith closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Scaup to the mat! Scaup manages to get full guard.
Scaup is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Keith wants to stand but Scaup is controlling his posture from full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Carbon Keith dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Keith doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Scaup counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Keith!
Scaup lands a heavy elbow.
Keith holds on, trying desperately to control.
Scaup looking to finish Keith with some ground and pound. This is bad for Keith!
Keith is looking to improve his position but Scaup isn't that keen on the idea.

Scaup is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Keith has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Keith!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Scaup keeping moving, preventing Keith from controlling successfully.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Keith works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Keith controlling the action here.

Keith decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Keith shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Scaup is trying to keep Keith in close.

Keith gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Keith shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Keith was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Scaup throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.
Keith lands a big elbow.

Scaup regains half guard.
Keith controlling the action here.
Keith wants to control but Scaup is keeping him busy.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Scaup is trying to control but can't.

Keith is working for a kimura but Scaup is defending it quite comfortably.
Keith is thwarting Scaup's attempts to control the position.
Keith slows the pace down in half guard.
Scaup wants to improve his position but Keith is controlling well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Carbon Keith showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Keith moves in looking to clinch but Scaup pushes him off.
Scaup throws a leg kick but Keith checks it.

Keith bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Keith looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Scaup sneaks back into half guard.

Keith decides to return to a standing position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
A head kick by Keith misses

and Scaup decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Keith's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Keith is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Keith is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Scaup tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

Keith stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Keith drives through with a takedown into guard.
Keith wants to control from the top but Scaup keeps moving.
Scaup trying to control the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Keith wants to pass the guard but Scaup is keeping the position.
Keith stays in close to Scaup's body and controls the position.
Scaup wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Keith is now in half guard.
Keith scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Well, if Keith is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Carbon Keith has got the better of the ground game so far.
Keith passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Scaup!

Scaup is trying to stand but he's just given Keith his back.
Keith keeps control of the position as Scaup tries to break free.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Scaup is covering up but some of the strikes from Keith are getting through and doing damage.

Keith is working the back position looking for the choke. Oh, he's slid into an armbar! Beautiful transition and Scaup taps out! Fantastic Jiu Jitsu from Keith.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:27 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Carbon Keith!
