Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jack Franklin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Torres (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Franklin comes into the arena with Hotel Califonia blaring out of the sound system. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Torres keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Franklin shoots in looking for a takedown. Torres tries to sprawl out of it but Franklin keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Torres manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Franklin shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Franklin was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Torres really wants to buck Franklin off and get back to his feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Torres lands a couple of digs.

Franklin is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Franklin has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Torres can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Franklin changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Torres tries to avoid it but Franklin manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Torres to the ground. Torres escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Franklin feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
John Torres is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
