This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 1 losses; Alexander Lincoln ! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Helsinki, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Ishmael Egyptian! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Chris Downing and Stewart Dunkirk.
Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? Lincoln shoots for a double leg takedown but Egyptian sprawls well. He's pushed Lincoln 's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Egyptian wants to counter with a clinch but Lincoln pushes him away. Horrible takedown attempt by Lincoln or perhaps it was just good defense by Egyptian, which made it look bad. Egyptian changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Lincoln has a takedown stuffed. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alexander Lincoln . That's going to take a lot out of him. The fight moves into the clinch position. Egyptian tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Egyptian tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Lincoln smiles and moves away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lincoln shoots in for a takedown but Egyptian shows good takedown defense. Lincoln throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Egyptian's waist but Egyptian gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lincoln off to one side. Nice sprawl there from Egyptian as Lincoln shoots in. Lincoln dives in and grabs Egyptian's left leg, looking for a takedown. Egyptian pushes down on Lincoln 's head and hops out.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lincoln shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Egyptian counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Egyptian drags the fight down to the ground.
Egyptian escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lincoln gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Egyptian isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Lincoln stacks Egyptian on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Lincoln ! Score +3 for passing guard: Lincoln (3) vs (0) Egyptian Egyptian sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Egyptian looking for submissions off his back. Egyptian wants to control but Lincoln is keeping busy and won't allow it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Egyptian is trying to get back to full guard. Egyptian actively working from the bottom here. Egyptian looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Lincoln is trying to control the action in half guard but Egyptian is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Egyptian looking for submissions off his back. Egyptian is looking to control Lincoln 's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Egyptian avoid being mounted?
That's three minutes gone in the round. Egyptian desperately trying to maintain half guard. Egyptian trying to control from the bottom.
Lincoln knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Egyptian on the ground. Lincoln is trying to control the action in half guard but Egyptian is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Egyptian felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Egyptian is looking for a sweep. Lincoln is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Egyptian moves into full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Egyptian is looking to cinch up a triangle. Lincoln throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Egyptian's body to avoid the submission. Egyptian has instead reached around Lincoln 's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Egyptian arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
