This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of London, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 1 losses; Ian Bigg! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 34 wins and 26 losses; Dado Mata!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Yves DeLean and Trevor Gratis.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Mata doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Bigg counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Bigg (2) vs (0) Mata
Bigg wants to control from the top but Mata keeps moving.
Bigg passes Mata's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Mata wants to improve his position but Bigg is controlling well.
Bigg is looking to take a break and control but Mata is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Bigg is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Mata is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Bigg has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
I really don't envy Bigg right now.

Mata is cranking Bigg's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Bigg! He's tightened the choke and Bigg is tapping out!
